Phased array systems design

Phased arrays offer highly flexible and capable performance, enabling optimised beam shaping, sidelobe control, multi-beam operation, and electronic steering. However, achieving the expected performance in practice is challenging and often subject to numerous design and implementation pitfalls. CEMTL supports the entire development process, delivering fully integrated antenna systems (including associated amplifier chains) to meet agreed performance specifications.

Large antennas are often deployed in inhospitable locations, and in any event will be subject to local weather conditions, CEMTL is very experienced in designing to meet appropriate environmental specifications and can ensure your product works reliably.

Machine learning–driven design and optimisation of advanced antenna arrays, enabling precise beam control and enhanced system performance.

Designing antenna arrays becomes increasingly challenging as their size grows significantly. Leveraging our advanced numerical simulation tools, together with bespoke machine learning–driven design and optimisation methods developed in-house, we are able to accurately predict complete electromagnetic wave solutions in both near-field and far-field regimes, and offer expert design solutions for arrays of all types and sizes.

This work includes the Electromagnetic modelling of both the antenna element and the overall array; the design of the first stage low noise amplifier and transmit power amplifier, if required. But our services go beyond design, encompassing the fabrication and testing of the arrays we develop for you, ensuring a seamless end-to-end solution.
